Big
Bear Lake is a year round resort located in the San Bernardino
Mountains in Southern California. Average daytime temperature in
the summer is 72 degrees. Big Bear Lake's 22 miles of shoreline is
lined with huge boulders and juniper and pine trees.
Lake
Activities
Swimming,
boating, sailboarding, water skiing, jet skiing, and fishing for
bass, trout, and catfish. Fisherman and walkers enjoy the walkway
along shoreline of the Stanfield Marsh Nature Preserve.

In
the Winter
Snow
Summit and Big Bear Mountains offer some to the best
skiing and snowboarding in Southern California. When the snow is
gone, the winter's ski trails become mountain bike trails.
The
Discovery Center
Features
interpretive and educational programs by staff naturalists. Moonridge
Animal Park is home to the only grizzlies still in Big Bear.
Golfers may play 9 holes at the Big Bear Mountain Golf Course.
Astronomers
photograph solar flares and sunspots from the Big Bear Solar
Observatory which sits on the causeway off the North Shore.
During the summer, tours are available to the public.

Provides
a wide assortment of unique gifts representing the area. There are
also many antique stores to delight antiques lovers. Big Bear
dining offers plenty of great restaurants including two on the
lake, as well as most of the popular fast food chains.

the wonderful weather, the majestic scenery of the lake and the
